This photo was taken by Joni Johnson when she visited Finland recently.  It is a good example of the breed and the how they appear in their natural habitat.

This is the wonderful “Charlie” who guards chickens at his ranch in Massachusetts.  He also helps with the neighbors cows if there is trouble in the field.  Needless to say, he’s also a beloved pet.  How amazing that these wonderful Great Pyrenees can be working dogs as well as devoted family members!

Here is the lovely matriarch, McFlurry, at the 2008 Great Pyrenees National Specialty held near Cleveland.  At almost 7 years old, she made the cut in Best of Breed.
